Homes >> Rockwood House, Galway.

Rockwood House is an  “A” rated, energy-efficient family home, located in East Galway. The house design responds to a rural context of flat fields, and creates sheltered outdoor spaces and evening sun traps.

A colonnade of steel and timber posts leads to an atrium-type entrance hall, around which the family accommodation is arranged. The brief also included integrated but private accommodation for  the grandparents, in a very cost effective and spatially efficient footprint.

“When we first started this process of building our forever house, both my husband and I had quite different ideas how it should look. Pat created designs that respected but challenged our ideas resulting in a final design that effortlessly mixed the traditional with the modern, the functional with the dramatic.

He then expertly guided us through the tender and building process, drawing on a team of professionals he has worked with many times before. This gave us a trust that every element of the build would be done right and done on time.

I found Pat very easy to talk to and very quick to act on any of my concerns. I would thoroughly recommend Pat and the Súil Nua team as a safe pair of hands to create and build your forever home.”
