This project involved the refurbishment and restoration of an existing 1930’s house, and new extensions to the sides and rear. The extensions are treated in a contemporary manner with large glazed areas to maximise light and views over Galway Bay. This approach gives clarity to what is “old” and what is “new”, and creates an interesting visual composition, and an internal dynamic, in response to the client’s brief.
