Private House Galway
This house is a reinterpretation of the three bay farmhouse plan, comprising a galleried central space, around which the other rooms rotate. A sheltered and enclosed planted entrance courtyard acts as an ante room before entry to the house itself. Most of the internal rooms interlock, avoiding wasteful corridor space. The house adopts passive solar principles. Externally the simple but bold geometric forms and extended gable walls help root the house to its semi rugged rural context.
