This house remodelling and extension project involves the complete makeover of a 1970’s bungalow. The original house is typical of it’s time with a long sterile central corridor and cellular rooms off. The design proposal seeks to free up this dull arrangement and create a dynamic sequence of inter connecting rooms, open plan double height spaces and a direct relationship to outdoor amenity areas. These interventions are designed to enhance the quality of family life and create light filled interiors. A new porch to the front of the house highlights the previous understated entrance and offers a clue of the new extension proposed to the rear of the house.
